Other Ceremonies

Scattering of Ashes and Internment

After the funeral you will be given the ashes of your loved one. There are many ways to arrange a meaningful service in which to bid a final farewell. Any ceremony can be personalised to create a bespoke and fitting service for your loved one.

Scattering of ashes can be carried out in a variety of locations, which enables you to choose a location close to your heart that has meaning. This could be at sea, by the coast, in a local park or within your own premises. The options are almost endless and together we can craft a ceremony that truly reflect the life and personality of the person who has died.

The act of interning your loved one to their final resting place is just as important as the funeral ceremony itself. There is no set service or script, so together we can personalise a service fitting for your loved one. This could contain a tribute, readings, poetry or anything else you deem appropriate. This may be an opportunity for people to carry out reading themselves, especially if they didn’t feel able to during the funeral. Whatever your wishes I will be by your side and help you create a bespoke and fitting ceremony.

If I have conducted the funeral of your loved one, there is not normally an extra charge for scattering of ashes or internment, but we can talk about this in detail during our meeting.

Memorial Service

A memorial service is similar to that of a funeral service, in terms of it purpose of honouring and remembering a loved one who has died, but there is no burial or cremation is involved. There is no formal structure to a memorial service, but it is designed to create a cathartic and memorable experience for everybody present. A memorial service provides the opportunity for people to mourn as if they attended the funeral service.

Pet Funeral or Remembrance Service

Our animals are part of our family and so many people feel it is appropriate to have some kind of funeral or service to mark the death of a beloved pet and faithful friend. A pet funeral may be held in a variety of locations, such as the privacy of your own home, a pet cemetery or a  location chosen to spread the ashes.

Conducting a pets funeral is no different to a human one. We are celebrating a life which was full of love and happiness and their presence will be greatly missed. It may be the first time your children have experienced loss and mourning, so turning the process into a therapeutic way to grieve may be the most suitable option.

Together we will create a bespoke ceremony, which can contain music, readings or a symbolic ritual, which will be a fitting mark of respect to your dear companion.
